Reviewing Bloody Mary Mixes and Recipes.

Finally getting to check out @chanikaogle and @lazydaisynwa. @thehubnwa, no bloody mary game. But good beer.

Got my bar back. Last item we had left in Wisconsin before moving to Arkansas. First bloody on bar.

Maybe someday I'll find a decent tomato juice or learn a good recipe. Until then. V8 it is. Today, I went with @devildaves stick and spicy pickle rimming salt. Winning combo right here. What's in your #sundayfunday glass?

Can't believe I'm almost 50 and can still rollerskate.

Our daughter, Maisie, turned the big 13 on the 5th. She said she did not want a party. What she wanted to do was go to a water park with her best friend Gabby. Thanks Jayson and Tammy DeLoach for meeting us there. It was exhaustingly fun. I know Maisie had fun with Gabby and Greyson. Always a good time when we get to see you guys.

Was not too sure about this one. What threw us off was it was made using Demitri's Bloody Mary Seasonings. Even brought out the bottle to show me. Then we looked at the menu again. Must have seen Demitri's and ignored the rest.

Made more sense now why it tasted so different. Not bad. Just not what we were expecting. Now that I know what it was, I would prefer it again. They did not originally come in blender-style cups. That was our idea. They cost more but oh so cute. Of course, I had to get a Landshark Lager as a chaser. Will definitely come back. Awesome staff too. They were great.

Stopped in Lebanon MO to listen. To a band we follow called @dawsonhollow_ highly recommend if you ever get a chance. But we found a bar called the gravel pit bar and grill. Mix was Zing Zang of course. Was not terrible they doctored it up. No garnishes. No chaser

Went old school today. Made our bloodys from scratch. Opening the spice cabinet and using a dash of this. A shake of that. Some Tabasco and a few dabs if that there "Wash your sister sauce." Turned out really good.

My buddy Dale was out scoping out Minnesota. He came across this and picked one up for me to try. Not bad. I wonder how long I should let it infuse. Might pour it all into something else today or tomorrow. Taste pretty good now.

One of the many awesome reasons to live here in Northwest Arkansas is that we can visit another state in less than 30 minutes give or take. Saturday we drive to look for a creek to cool off at in Missouri. We have taken this route several times. Every time we go by we see this huge sign from the highway that says "MOONSHINE" we keep thinking one of these days we need to stop and check that place out. Well, that day was Saturday. What a awesome little place. We sample a few of their shines. Each one was very good. A lot of flavors to pick and choose from. We got talking about bloody Mary's. The owner gave me a 50 ML and told me that I should try this with one of our bloodys. You will get to see the mix we are reviewing but I will post that next week. This week will be about the shine.

Drinking moonshine compared to vodka. There is a huge flavor change. We liked it. It is a stronger tasting drink. I actually should not have used the whole 50 ML. You will see in the picture that I poured it into a bigger glass, and added more tomato juice, and mix. Potent stuff in that first glass lol. Wow call me impressed. We have a TraderJoe's in Little Rock, almost 3 hours away. I picked up 1 bottle since I wasn't sure if we would like it. It has clam juice in it. Turns out. It is very tasty. I might have to see if they ship. They are not a sponsor, but could be.

Hands down. Best firework show I have ever seen.

There has been some changes to the recipie and more products added. First off, hands down some of the best meat sticks we have had the pleasure of using as our garnish. Big John's Uncured hickory smoked pineapple pork sticks. Uncured bacon pork sticks and uncured bacon jalapeños pork sticks are a great addition to any bloody mary.

Along with the pork sticks we were sent a bottle of their @toptomatococktailmix and their "spicy" mix. Both were very good. Still on the sweet side which really pears with the spicy. I love those weird combos. But, as I mentioned in my 2017 post. The mix it not oily any more. Big improvement there.

New to the review they added 2 rimmers. Olde Smokey bacon rim salt and a Dill'icious salt rim. I used the dill on the originality and the smokey back on the spicy. Both mixes went over like a flash. Went through @cashmuseum and stopped and ate at @cashbarandbbq. I asked the server what mix they use. She wasn't sure. Saud it was Zig Zinger or something like that. I said, you mean @zingzangmix? She got excited that I knew what she meant and said "Yes, that's it!". Lol. As cute as that moment was, the mix was straight out of the bottle, not doctored at all. Had another bloody this one was at Epcot at the coral reef restaurant. The server did not know the mix. I'm sure they all use Finest Call. Bloody was 13.00, not as good as in Africa at Animal Kingdom. That memory tasted better ever bloody I got afterwards. Jill got a fancy blue drink with her food. She tried the bloody and low and behold, the bloody hone, and I obtained half a fancy blue drink lol. I'm ok with that lol.

From our Resort last night. Titos and Finest Call bloody Mary mix. Not to fancy. He did drop 3 olives in, obviously not on a stick so they went to the bottom of the glass.

$14.00 Sunday Bloody Mary at Animal Kingdom in Disney. Special seasoning mud added to finest call and Titos. Actually was pretty good.

New item to add to the top of the list. @cherylssecretrecipe (AKA CSR) is getting added. I have used this seasoning for a mix, a helpers aid, and added seasoning. This is great. And the critic approves as well. We tossed this in our tomato juice. And used as a rimmer to make a great tasting bloody mary. We used CSR to our homemade fries and many other recipes. And even better, we had CRS packed to take on a trip. Stop to eat lunch, of course had to try a bloody. It was bland. I ran to the car and grabbed the CSR for the win. It saved the bloody. I told the bartender but he didnt seem to care. That explains why the bloody was not good his way. I will be keeping this in stock. This is a very great "multi purposed product". I highly recommend checking these guys out. And expect seeing more posts using Cheryl's secret recipe. They have been posting some new recipes to try that sounds absolutely amazing.

Went to a crawfish boil. Such a good cook. We issued him the winner. Then I showed him my Bloody Mary game. Guess who walked out with the belt? It was his though, so I had to give it back....

Stopped in locally to try a 420 themed beer @thefirstseat. I'm not much of a IPA drinker so I went with Sweetwater 420. The glass itself was 10 bucks filler with either Sweetwater 420 or Sweetwater Hazy IPA. The wife got a bloody. It was from a Zing Zang base like most places. But it was doctored up. Was not to bad. But I still say "if it needs to be doctored up to be good, get a different mix" there are plenty out there. But that being said it must not have been that bad, she got 2. No garnish on the first one. Second one was garnished with just a Lime and a Lemon. Bloodys were $7.00 each. Kind of a cool little bar. Supposedly they have a bloody mary bar every once and a while. Might be back.

Trying to make the best of the crazy almost 80 degree Arkansas weather with gusts of 30 miles an hour wins. @demitrisbloodymary Bloody Marys and @caseys pizza and awesome cheese sticks will not stop us from going to a park and having a family day. F U wind...

Stopped at The Creek Golf snd RV Resort in Arkansas. Their web site claimed they their "Casey's special Bloody mary" was proclaimed by their guests "The best bloody mary they have ever had." We had to try it. Where they might not be wrong. It was not bad. I surely would not say that it was one of the best. Sadly, there is not a calling for Bloody Mary's as much here. Still shaking that tree. The vodka they used was Tito's. The mix I assumed would be homemade blend, alas it was not. They used The Finest Call. They garnish with a spicy pickle and a peperoncini. She said that as it sits, it adds more flavor to the bloody. We ordered a big one as the sizes were small or big. Was $14.00. I would probably not go there again but it was not terrible. But was expensive for what went in to it.

I got to get a taste of home. Been waiting to try @getwicks Red beer. Said on the bottle to mix with my favorite lager. I am not sure @millerliteco @millerlite would have tasted as good in a Red beer, but I'll fi d that out later. 12 ounces of beer, and 3 ounces of Red Beer Blend. I have to say. It was not too bad. Beer normally goes on the side as a chaser. But, I could get use to this. Hell of a good mix here wick's has.

Some reviewing was done today. Our get togethers draw in some of the weirdest creatures. She even joined us for a bit around the fire. She has the best stories. Or again I was oversesrved. Either way, fun was had by all. Stayed tuned, more to come.

Since Arkansas still has a thing to learn about the bloody mary, we had our bloody mary and irish coffee at home and stuck to beer the rest of the day. @ozarkbeer and @bikerackbrewingco have their stuff together. They make some awesome beer. These beers would make great chasers.
